Flutterwhale
- Habitat
- The Flutterwhale inhabits the warm, shallow waters of coral reefs and coastal lagoons, often found near floating seaweed beds where it can bask in the sunlight.
- Diet
- The Flutterwhale primarily feeds on plankton, small fish, and jellyfish, using its specialized filtering system, akin to that of a baleen whale, to trap its food while swimming with its mouth open.
The story of Flutterwhale
The Flutterwhale is a massive marine creature characterized by its vibrant, iridescent wings that span over 15 meters, combined with a colossal whale-like body reaching lengths of up to 25 meters. This unique hybrid exhibits a bioluminescent pattern that changes color in response to its emotional state, creating a stunning display as it gracefully glides through the ocean depths.
Special abilities
Iridescent Barrage
The Flutterwhale unleashes a flurry of dazzling light beams that can disorient and damage its foes.
From the Butterfly
Real-world basis: The ability mimics the way certain butterflies use their iridescent wings to reflect light and confuse predators.
Tsunami Tail
With a powerful flick of its tail, the Flutterwhale creates a massive wave that crashes down on its enemies.
From the Whale
Real-world basis: This attack emulates the tail slaps of large whales, which can produce significant disturbances in water, creating shockwaves.
Wings of Protection
The Flutterwhale spreads its colossal wings to create a protective barrier of shimmering light, absorbing incoming attacks.
From the Butterfly
Real-world basis: This defensive ability is inspired by the way butterflies can use their colorful patterns as camouflage or distraction.
Oceanic Shield
By releasing a cloud of bioluminescent particles, the Flutterwhale creates a temporary shield that deflects harmful projectiles.
From the Whale
Real-world basis: Similar to how some whales produce bubbles to confuse predators, this ability uses bioluminescence for visual distraction.
