Whibat
- Habitat
- Whibats inhabit coastal regions where ocean meets dense forests, often found near cliffs and caves that provide shelter and nesting areas. They are known to roost in the high trees during the day and forage in the ocean at night.
- Diet
- Whibats are carnivorous, primarily feeding on fish, squid, and smaller marine creatures. They use their echolocation to locate schools of fish in the dark waters and employ a unique hunting technique that combines diving and swooping from above.
The story of Whibat
The Whibat is a remarkable hybrid creature, possessing the immense size and streamlined body of a whale, paired with the leathery wings and echolocation capabilities of a bat. This creature features a thick, blubber-like skin that aids in buoyancy and insulation in cold waters, while its wings span over 20 feet, allowing for agile gliding through the air. Its large, expressive eyes are adapted for both underwater and nocturnal vision, and the intricate patterns on its skin resemble a mix of marine and aerial camouflage.
